Spam is getting out of control. I'm actually considering changing my email address. Well, half-considering.

I had this wacky dream about being at a John Kerry rally with a ton of celebrities at it. I recall Jason Alexander being there, but the real weird part was this punk kid telling me how important voicing one's opinions was to the American political process. All I wanted to do was string the kid up, but I was controlling myself (even a considerate guy in my dreams).

Then there was a another about watching a Charlie's Angels movie. Seerwah was there watching it with me telling some sort of joke that shockingly made no sense. Maybe it was a plot summary.

Well, I think I saw the best bad of SXSW last night, Razorlight. They're from ye ol' London.

My realtor hooked my up with some tickets to a SWSW event at Hard Rock Cafe. Free beer, too. I can't complain about that. Some pretty good music, too. Vallejo, The Real Heroes, Damnations. S. Money would have loved the lead singer of Heroes as he was wearing a dress marine jacket.

Also, I checked out this limey, Jamie Cullum, playing Frontin' on the piano. I guess they are trying to liven up the bar in The Driskill without hurting its reputation.

Well, tonight's the first night of South by Southwest. I'm not sure what I'm in for, but hopefully it'll be worth the one hundred bones I dropped on the wrist band.

So I'm dealing with all these changes at work and one of my colleagues is asking me to play cards. Conveniently there is a card table in the conference room.

I've been at work for a half-hour already. This just ain't right.

So Joseph Biden might want to retake American History. He pointed out, to Muammar Kaddafi of all people, that George Washington had started the American Revolution, but that he was "kicked out" after eight years in office. Glad to see Biden encapsulates what may be the most groundbreaking moments in American history so succinctly.

Mr. and Mrs. Bubba headed to Costa Rica today. Bon Voyage!

Anyone check out Chappelle's Show? If so, this tribute page to the Rick James episode will make more sense. Out of context it is still funny, though.

I had this dream about a big piece of cake.

Just got back from the 101X Homegrown Live show at The Backyard. Cruiserweight headlined a bill that included Near Miss and Fire Kills. The lead singer of Cruiserweight is like a marionette version of Belinda Carlisle. In a good way.

You talk about stupid people: $1 million bill leads to arrest

I don't even know if this is legal to post...

The Official Dilbert Website

I had another wacked out dream last night. Unfortunately, I remembered it when I woke up but forgot it before hitting the shower (actually, I think the shower hit me). I need to bust out the notebook to capture my delusions, I mean dreams.

Me and Fat Boy took a little break from work and took a hike at Wild Basin this afternoon. That was a nice way to kill some time. It was a beautiful day and definitely better spent (or partly spent) outside than inside. If only I had my camera.

And the countdown is on: I sent off my Clie to Sony for repair. I don't know I've survived this long without it. Damn technology making our lives easier!

The second night of weird dreams. This time I'm looking at my Outlook Calendar and I have two different meetings: one with some Bishops and another with a group of Cardinals. An hour with each to discuss their website. Catholic websites by The Purveyor.

So I have this dream last night that I wake up in a strange apartment. I go to the bathroom and it's trashed; ceiling tiles, light torn down, holes in the walls. I find my way out of the place and get home. I turn on the TV to see the complex I left being featured. The news reports dozens of murders there. I call up JMVC (he's even omnipresent in my dreams!) and he's gone through the same thing. We discuss turning myself in to authorities to eliminate ourselves from suspicion. Further listening to the news reports indicates nobody else has survived. So I'm thinking I'm feeling pretty lucky. For a punk kid.

Rumor has it like some Blogger folks are having an event at one of my all-time favorite bars, Club De Ville on the 15th. They're there for SXSW. Sounds like they're giving away free beer to fellow Bloggers, but I don't know how they'll know who's who. I'll make sure to find out how...

JMVC and I went down to San Antonio to see the Spurs/Mavericks game. Real good seats and great parking. Not such a good game as both teams took turns playing shitty. On the way back we made the mistake of going to Eric's to shoot some pool. Well, my mistake, not JMVC's. The shitty performances weren't limited to teams playing in San Antonio.

Just got back from a going away lunch. Two people were supposed to be leaving though one, Fat Boy, took back his resignation. Well, while at lunch one of my coworkers got a phone call telling him today was his last day. He's a contractor so ending a contract with little or no notice isn't unusual, but it doesn't usually happen around here. That's a pretty shitty way to treat people.

So CSI has an episode tonight with featuring a case about a severed head from Jackpot, Nevada. Jackpot holds a dear place in my heart. A couple million years ago I was working in Idaho. Me and some colleagues went towards Sun Valley Resort when we saw a sign for GAMBLING in Jackpot, Nevada. No matter that it was a two hour detour nor that it was late in the day on Sunday. Casinos were there so we were off.

So we head to this casino through long stretches of nothingness to get to Jackpot where the casinos looked to be a slight upgrade from those at church festivals. But we knew we made the right choice when these drunk guys passed in front of cars screaming "You guys are pimps; Big Money!" That Ford Taurus we had must really have impressed.

Went to see Cornell Hurd Band at Jovita's last night. They are a sit down & drink beer band...Honky Tonk & Texas swing, mostly. Whatever that means; there was a steel guitar and a washboard involved so I had to go. My first night out not drinking in countless ages. Smoke and not drinking is not a lot of fun.

Oh good, my car's a bit cleaner.

I don't mind the rain, but why can't it rain hard enough to clean the dirt and shit (literally!) off my car? And why do people have to drive differently because its raining? Damn them all to eternal damnation in hell!

So I stop at the Albertsons' off of Research before work and this guy with a pigeon in his hand is asking me for money. I don't know what kind of precident it set, but I'm pretty sure I'll avoid that Albertsons' from now on. At least I got my SXSW ticket. N.E.R.D. here I come.

As crazy as this sounds, I think I'm taking some time off from drinking. I still feel dead from Saturday night's Bar Golf (for which I was disqualified for getting asked to leave the 9th "hole"). I ended up wandering around for a couple hours and ended up near the convention center. Then these Fat Samaritans somehow got my phone and called up Vlad to give me a ride home. It wasn't a pretty picture.
