The empty bottle of Rudy's has left the house. Sad times.

Monday, August 30, 2004

I actually got up this morning relatively easy. Seven am should never be relatively easy.

Sunday, August 29, 2004

Seerwah's flight was delay so now I'm heading out. That extra four hours didn't make the car smell any better. Maybe driving to the airport with the windows down will lessen the funk.

The only thing that stinks worse than Seerwah's car is my night out last night. I think I'm not going out anymore. Unless there's a reason, like a birthday. If not, I'm on my ass at home.

Over three hours hanging out at the car detailing place but the smell has come back. This is an episode of Seinfeld. Maybe one last night of airing it out will solve the problem. Well, at the very least the car is nice and clean.

But, even worse, is I used the last of the Rudy's. I'll need to make a trip to rectify that situation.

Friday, August 27, 2004

Bubba got a kitchen pass so we're going bar-hopping. Until midnight at which time he turns into a pumpkin and has to scurry home. Maybe I'll run into somebody and extend the evening.

So the garage, my car, and Seerwah's car still smell. That ain't good.

And I'm late to the office...

I think I've solved my "getting to the office by 8:30" problem: set up a meeting with my boss. That's a motivator.

My car smells like gas. And it's been parked in the garage at work for the past three hours. That can't be a good indicator for the other car.

OK, I'm doing some training at the new job and the sexual harassment stuff is killing me. Specifically, the examples. I've taken the liberty of posting them here for your enjoyment. Watch out for those elevator eyes...

Examples Of Sexual Harassment

The following is a non-exhaustive list of items that could be interpreted as sexual harassment by the alleged victim(s). The more severe the conduct, the less pervasive it need be. On the other hand, numerous incidents that in isolation would not constitute sexual harassment may support a claim of sexual harassment when viewed collectively.

Verbal Sexual Harassment
Referring to an adult as a girl, hunk, doll, babe, or honey
Whistling at someone, cat calls
Making sexual comments about a person's clothing, anatomy, or looks
Making sexual comments or innuendoes
Turning work discussions into sexual topics
Telling sexual jokes or stories
Asking about sexual fantasies, preferences, or history
Asking a person questions about his/her sexual life
Making sexual pleasures or desires known
Repeatedly asking out a person who is not interested or does not consent
Pressure for sexual favors
Making kissing sounds, howling, groaning, and smacking lips
Telling lies or spreading rumors about a person's personal sex life
Harassing phone calls

Non-Verbal and Visual Sexual Harassment
Looking a person up and down (elevator eyes)
Staring or leering at someone
Making sexual gestures with hands or through body motions
Blocking a person's path
Following or stalking a person
Giving personal gifts
Displaying sexually suggestive visuals-posters, calendars, magazines, graffiti, graphics, etc.
Sexually suggestive notes or letters
Making facial expressions such as winking, throwing kisses, or licking lips
Participating in or condoning sexually harassing behavior
Inappropriate behavior of a sexual nature in conjunction with any company business, e.g., going to an adult club/video store in a company vehicle

Physical Sexual Harassment
Giving a massage around the neck or shoulders
Touching a person's clothing, hair, or body
Lingering around a person
Hugging, kissing, patting, pinching, or stroking
Touching or rubbing oneself sexually around or in the view of another person
Standing close or brushing up against a person
Patting, goosing, caressing, or fondling
Gestures that non-verbally describe or draw sexual parts of the anatomy
Tearing, pulling, yanking a person's clothing

I was running late (again) so I figured one way to insure that I'd get to work by 8:30 (the court appointed start time) was to skip taking a shower. That isn't a practice I want to follow on a regular basis, but I figured this time would be an exception. Well, I ended up at the office at 8:50. This time I can blame traffic.

So they let you submit your badge/ID request electronically around here, including the picture. I guess I could have got a legit one, but I figured I'd use one I had laying around....

Chilly gives me a call and he's run out of gas on the way home. No problem since I have Seerwah's SUV and the previous (home) owner's gas tank. So I head out and fill the tank and head toward Chilly.

I see him so I have to take a U-turn. When I do this, the tank falls over in the back of the SUV. Not a problem, but I pull over to straighten it up. Turns out it is a problem as the tank is leaking over the back. Gas: it ain't a good smelling thing.

It's The Saw's birthday today. I wonder how old that punk kid is?

Monday, August 23, 2004

I ended up at the office about 10 minutes later than I planned, but it wasn't a big deal. The place seems pretty cool. I may be content at work for a few days. Oh, these are pictures of the view from the new job.

Bubba called and was going to ask Mrs. Bubba if he could come over. That was a few hours ago and he still ain't here. I guess he showed her who's boss.

New job doesn't change my inherent laziness. But for at least today I'll be somewhat on time...

Sunday, August 22, 2004

Back on the roof for some clean-up today. It rained again last night, so I brushed off that water and then applied some tar-like substance over the areas of trouble. Well, the ones I think are trouble as I couldn't find any holes or leaks on the roof. Regardless, it's one messy job.

And te new job starts tomorrow. Good thing as I need to pay for the above. I probably should have called on Friday to confirm things, but I'll pull a Costanza and just hope for the best.

Saturday, August 21, 2004

Busy for a bit around here. First thing is I got Seerwah's ladder and heading up on the roof. Man, that's screwed up. Lots of standing water and such. I did my best to get it off (and the leaves and dirt that were up there, too!). After that, I tried my hand at electrical work. I wanted a dimmer in the living room, but my the electricity in this place is really screwed up.

He strikes again. So I take my pictures up to Sam's Club for development. I get all my pictures put to CD, but one of the 29 pictures was not put to the cd. So I had to do it myself. That's almost like work.

Anyway, this picture was taken during S. Money's rehearsal. I was wandering around the church with his sister-in-law trying to keep her kids quiet. Apparently those church things like quiet.

Up before 8 am again!

Thursday, August 19, 2004

I want to party with the beer bear. How cool would it be to have a drinking bear around? The fights we could get into...

Wednesday, August 18, 2004

Just got back from "seeing" Endochine at Lucky Lounge. Apparently the lead guitarist had some sort of emergency so they were doing their best impersonation of the Doors. But without a guitar instead of bass. They sounded ok so I'll try them out when the guitarist is there.

Tuesday, August 17, 2004

Not only did I get up around 7 am, but I managed to go for a run before heading to help Bubba with his truck. Apparently it died on Mrs. Bubba so I had to step up and help out. And what to I get for such an endeavor? I package of war books from S. Money fresh from the USPS.

I had this dream that I don't remember except it ending with somebody knocking really loudly at my door. This caused me to wake up at 7:08 am. Not a bad thing when I'm getting used to waking up early. And I have to head over to Bubba's to help with his battery.

The picture is of Europe and Africa when the sun is setting. Half of the picture is in night. The bright dots you see are the cities lights. You seen this picture? This is pretty awesome. (Apparently) taken from Columbia on its last mission. It almost makes me want to hijack the space shuttle and take a look myself. That might be a little difficult with heightened security at all airports, though. Hmm, but is security heightened at all space ports? That's the question.

I officially accepted the offer for the new job. Figured I'd get it out of the way early and have the rest of the week to laze it up for the last time.

Trying to finish a keg by yourself isn't the smartest of ideas. Though it sorta explains the dream I had about drinking Brahma Chopp (Brazilian beer). I had about 12-15 glasses from the keg before I threw in the towel.

Sunday, August 15, 2004

So I had a party at my place last night and the remnants of a keg of Shiner were left here. Well, I've been drinking this since 4:00 pm and I still haven't finished it.

Friday, August 13, 2004

I just got offered that job. Hungover as hell and I still get the job. Will wonders never cease?

Christ, I just got back from that second interview. I think I'm still drunk from last night. But the interview went pretty well. I was in the zone. Drunken zone.

Thursday, August 12, 2004

I got a call about a second interview for tomorrow morning. A bit later, 10:30 am, this time so I should have plenty of time. How to celebrate? Sunshine and some folks are heading out to the Copper Tank for drinks and to hear her boyfriend play some piano. And I didn't even know they had that kind of music there.

Not only is my pool filled past where it should, I think some of the piping to the pool is broken. I hear a noise from where the water goes to the pool even when it's off. And I think the pool is getting even more water in it.

But looking on the good side, I did have a pretty good interview this morning with a major telecommunications company. Not bad for an 8 am interview.

Wednesday, August 11, 2004

So the evaporation process has finally gotten to my pool. For the longest time, the water was way too high, but I didn't bother evacing the water because I figured Mother Nature's ass would be on it. So today I decided to put some water in the pool.

Two hours later, it rains and now the pool is filled past where it should be. Damn me being proactive (and not looking at the weather forecast).

Tuesday, August 10, 2004

This is great for anybody born on August 10.

Monday, August 09, 2004

I'm up to nearly 16GB in music.

Saturday, August 07, 2004

Off to my first Round Rock Express ball game...

I sent out the evite for the next celebration at The Purveyor's place. Birthday bash for all the folks who have birthdays in August. Good thing that includes me.

Thursday, August 05, 2004

OK, I've got about 40 of my CD's burned. I'm up to 10.3GB on music.

Wednesday, August 04, 2004

Putting in this hard drive was pretty easy. Everything seems to be working so I think I'll head to bed

Tuesday, August 03, 2004

So I decided to spend my spare time burning my CD collection to MP3's. I went up to Best Buy and bought a 250GB hard drive for this endeavor. I think that should cover it. PC said something like 1000 songs can be fit on 10GB, and I trust PC.

I'm back from the weekend up north. I thought I got a decent amount of sleep, but I'm still exhausted.

And to make matters worse my pool is green. It's like St. Patrick's Day in my back yard.
