A rare quadruple, one-day visit of my brothers in Michigan. Morning trip for my nephew's first communion takes out the eldest brother; quick trip to see my new niece takes care of brother number five; two expressway exits northeast takes out brother number three before finally stopping at the restaurant brother number seven manages. All before 6:00 PM Eastern!
A nice dinner with S. Money and Miss Mary last night before hitting the local shit hole bar, the Nite-Cap Tavern. Good thing it was karaoke night because that was an instrumental part in a historic event. We were about to leave when I made a called shot on the next song. If Love Shack came up, we'd stay for another beer. And it did! The Love Shack Called Shot.

Apparently poor Kristian Huselius has gotten himself into a little trouble. For those of you who don't know, Huselius plays for the Florida Panthers (when there is NHL hockey going on), but in his spare time in Stockholm, he gets himself it international sex scandals. Good work!
So me and S. Money have made our way down to Ann Arbor after a pit stop in my ancestral home for some sigh seeing. My friggin old house is still the same color; somebody needs to do some work on that thing. After that, to Ann Arbor.
And as soon as I got my bearings in A2, I had to hit the internet cafe. Man, a whole day without the internet can make a man jittery.

Well, I'm in Michigan and I got this cool new Malibu Maxx but the damn CD player doesn't work. WTF?
So getting done at work at 1:15 when I needed to leave for the airport by 2 wasn't the best of ideas. Thankfully people didn't mind letting me through to do an O.J. at the airport. Though there was a little less jumping. Now a nice two hour flight to Detroit Rock City.
And speaking of running late, my damn new phone finnally arrived. I had the money transferred to this jackass a week ago Sunday (April 17) and I just got the phone today. That's not a quick turnaround. Fortunately I had an hour or so to charge up the new phone, but not enough time to figure out the damn thing. OK, plane door closing...

I'm pretty sure I just heard the worst song ever, "Birthday" by The Sugarcubes. I have been fortunate to have never heard of the band or the song before because it is truly wretched. The howling, dear God, the howling. Well, you can't know the good without the bad, but this is beyond bad. I wouldn't call it a severe reaction for somebody to build a time machine for the express purpose of going back in time to wipe that plague away from mankind. In fact, I'd encourage it. Just not monetarily.
OK, I found the check.
It can't be a good thing when I can find neither an estimate my handy-man has put together nor a check for $700. Funny thing is my place, right now, is more organized than it has been in a long time.

I remember back in the day when you could stream baseball games for free and I'm sort of glad that isn't available free anymore because I'd be listening to this Tigers-Twins make-up game going on right now. It's bad enough I'm continually ALT-Tabing to the Yahoo! boxscore. But the Tigers have scrapped back to being up by one going into the bottom of the eighth. Hard luck story Ugueth Urbina had a scoreless top of the inning and, hopefully, Troy Percival will be able to atone for himself and save the game in the ninth...
So I was walking out of the bathroom at work and there was a set of tweezers on the counter. Now, that's an odd place for those to be. I don't even want to think about what was happening there with those.

Pretty boring weekend; Chilly took me out to lunch earlier today. Bubba came over on Friday and we played Halo 2 for like four hours (then he came over same Sunday afternoon. Saturday I actually worked around the house. Well, between watching the NFL draft and basketball. Pretty boring. And now to bed!
Two days of working outside on the yard, this house stuff is for the birds. I have a convenient break, though, because Chilly owes me lunch for something and he's making good on that today. We're heading to good ol' Shady Grove.

I had this dream about an old ex-girlfriend. It seems like we got back together but were keeping it a secret from folks. Well, we were hiding in a giant crate avoiding some of my family members and I got out once the coast was clear. I went and talked with whoever it was and came back. I opened the crate to see that she's been turned into an old-school tube of medicine. For some reason I don't find that odd at all and I try to resuscitate her. Unfortunately, I woke up before finding out if I could bring her back.
Now that's just weird.

So won that eBay order for a new phone on Sunday night. I paid the guy Sunday and emailed him Tuesday to see if it was on its way. He replied back saying that it would be in the mail that night or the next day. So imagine my surprised when I opened up my email today and there was email from eBay saying that the package was scheduled to be picked up today. Friggin lying fucking people. I think I'll raze him and ruin his eBay profile. I'll show him. If it isn't perfect, he's going down.
As crazy as it sounds, I haven't had anything to drink besides water (and a glass of milk) since Sunday. I feel almost human after so long.

We've got a pool in the office for the $205 million Mega Millions lottery drawing for Friday. Turns out we have 41 people involved. At five bucks per, that's 205 potential winners. 205 tickets, $205 million, quite the coincidence. I'll have $5 million before the end of the weekend.
And I'll need it because neolefty and I have an idea to buy an apartment complex. It's going to be like a new age Winchester Mystery Mansion in San Francisco.

Darko started tonight in another Detroit victory!
I just got off a call with the new team and it was great. Less than fifteen minutes and I kept myself from volunteering for something. The topper will be this afternoon when there's a full team meeting via video conference. For two hours!
I've watched a couple episodes of 24 and need to stop. I just got up from a series of the most apocalyptical dreams you could imagine (or so my lawsuit will say): From the sight of numerous missiles flying through the air to getting my brother and mother to gather up supplies to my parents' condo collapsing into the ocean. I guess Jack Bauer won't be saving me. Why Jack, why?
Only I could somehow ruin eight hours of sleep.

Off to beddy-bye time. You know you're beat when it's 10 and you could've gone to bed at 8.
This day can't end soon enough. I'm not sure if I'm coming down with something or just hungover still. At least I see several people from the new team are working from home. That's a good sign. Now if only I had a pulse.

I'm back in the ATX, but just barely. This last day took me from hungover in Athens, GA back to Atlanta before battling Herbalife cretons at the airport before getting back home. Much of the day was spent trying to avoid throwing up, which is always a fun time. And the time not spent on yack prevention duty, I was wondering what the hell my brother had done to my house while I was gone. Turns out a decent amount, but the most notable is a new light in the dining room. I'll need to get some pictures.
Oh, my friggin tape ran out and I missed what could turn out to be the last ever episode of Arrested Development. Why couldn't the tape have skipped over that shitty episode of The Simpsons?

incognegro showed me the way of the world this weekend and I'm getting a new cell phone. I've chosen the Nokia 6230 and I just threw a bid on eBay before heading out towards the airport. He also let me know that cell phone companies are full of shit; I don't need to go through them to get a new phone, I just need a SIM card and an unlocked phone. Screw you, Cingular.

Last night was not even close to a quiet start to the weekend. After meeting up with neolefty and incognegro at the airport (where they got a start on me with some 420s), we headed to this bar called The Highlander before dropping our bags at host's place. Then the trouble started with a dream come true, the place where strippers come to die: the Clermont Lounge. I've heard about this place for years but always missed it on my trips here. We started off with a round of beers (incognegro drinking canned beer is a sight) before deciding to order two at a time. This place lived up to its name on appearance alone: located in the dilapidated basement of the Clermont Motor Hotel. Well, there were the strippers that shouldn't have been allowed out of their local alley let alone a strip club. I mean, I envied the blind guy across from me. Well, he was with his mother so maybe not (and I don't even want to mention what the mother was doing during her lap dance). I mean you couldn't blame the guy who yacked and was basically carried out. But it is all a sideshow and after thought when Blondie showed up. The legendary Blondie who uses her cans to crush cans and beat the hell out of stupid frat boys with said cans (well, maybe she beats up people other than frat boys with her cans). She came out of nowhere and the amusement was made only more so by the six or seven beers. She beat the fuck out of that poor frat boy, but she conveniently has a strict "no touch" policy so he was able to pull the trigger and get out of there after a few rounds with this legend. Just a crazy night. You know it's a memorable evening when you walk out with fifteen packs of free cigarettes and it's barely worth mentioning. And then it was back to the pad where we thought it a good idea to start back with the drinking before eventually passing out.
Well, tonight we're classing it up with a Jazz at the High. Jazz music at the High Museum of Art with a bunch of incognegro's friends. We got about six hours to get ready.
But I got to pass back out.

Thank God I came home for the afternoon as I had a lot more to do for this trip than I thought. Now off to the airport! Next stop, Atlanta. But more importantly, a friggin day off. Tonight's going to be tame, but you never know with incognegro.

I have a view of the copier and someone on my team kept going up to it. I mean like eight times to the copier. I was assuming that she had been on the road and was doing expenses. So being the jovial guy that I am, I said "you've set a single day record for making copies." Her reply, "I just can't get it right." I certainly hope she wasn't making that many of the same copies because that would just be plain dumb.

I decided to go run this morning and about a half mile in I realized that was a mistake. Hopefully I'll be stupid enough to try it again soon.

Oh yeah, the Brew Fest beer list.
Another Monday up before 6 am. Friggin allergies are killing me. Well, I can only hope this week is less a pain in the ass than the last. At the tail end is a trip to Hotlanta for Brew Fest with neolefty and incognegro. I think I'll make it through now...

Man, oh man. Went with Bubba to the Louisiana Swamp Romp & Crawfish Festival downtown around 3 and ended up out until past 1 with The Saw. The festival was no more than a want to be carnival so we busted out and bar hopped. Bar hopping at 4 o'clock is always fun. Even more fun when it's not just two people in the bar. It was crowded down there. We went from Fado's to Little Woodrow's to Mother Egan's before Bubba got tired of me, but I wasn't too tired for drinking. Bubba dropped me off at the garage I usually park at and waited for The Saw to show up. I might have taken a nap for all I know. The rest is a blur until making an ass of myself at The Driskill. Then it was a nice nap in the bed of The Saw's truck.
And a friendly FYI out there, if you ask for a girl's number it's not a good idea to forget and ask again.

It was a dream come true last night as I had Family Game Night at my place. I could turn into a home buddy quite easily with a few more nights like that.
Now to work on the backyard!

So this jackass from Dell comes to fix my computer (my USB and fan ceased to work) and everything looks fine when I leave for a meeting. I come back and the thing won't recognize my ethernet adapter (e.g. I can't connect to the network). What a clueless fuck that guy must be. Anyway, I had to scramble around to find a USB flash drive (thank God the guy actually fixed the USB adapters) and borrow a computer to download some drivers from Dell's shitty, shitty, shitty support site (a great example of how to not find anything quickly). Finally got that done and now I'm back in mouse/Clie world. I have no idea how I survived nearly a week without having my Clie calendar. Anyway, I'm content for moment.

So these damn allergies are going to be the death of me. I woke up this morning at 3 am (and that was with going to bed just after midnight). I ended up getting back to sleep around 4:30, but the good news was I had a 8 am meeting so I had to get up at 6:30. Good times indeed!

So I've been reorged! Now I'm reporting to a someone in St. Louis, still supporting a group in Chicago, and still located in Austin. Nobody from my new group is located in Austin, so this will be fun.
Oh, the sleep taste of a good night's sleep. I went to bed at 11 and slept until past 7. Well, off to the office!

Couldn't fall asleep and then I can't fall back to sleep. Four hours sleep ain't no good.
And my printer won't print, but it seems to be a PC problem. I need a new computer, that's for sure. If I can only win the lottery...

S. Money's gone on that God forsaken 6 am flight and instead of going back to sleep, I'm watching some of my taped shows. Something's wrong with that, but comfy couch and TV ain't saying so.
