Man, all that drinking Thursday night has left me dead. That and a pending 8 am class tomorrow. Or shall I say later today. Ouch.

Friday, September 29, 2006

This is my old Florida representative. Not anymore. I met the man once, if only I had known he was a pervert.

mobile post: too bored to drool

Another exciting day here at the office. This is the guy who sits next to me catching some shut eye. Our boss is out sick so I guess we can all get away with a bit more than usual.

mobile post: tracking, tracking, caught

I found it. I found it! Thank Zeus my mind started working. Or thank Zeus for reminding me I got a haircut Friday afternoon. And after the fact I remember the incident so well: I came in for a haircut, the guy at the door chatting my ear off, me setting the notebook down by the woman who cut way too much hair, me leaving in a hurry to get to my resting for the night of drinking ahead.

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

Man, I was laying in bed and just couldn't fall asleep and tore up my house again looking for my notebook. I even called the place I last recall having it. They assured me if they found something like that that they'd turn it in. Or so they say.

mobile post: have bug, will travel

This guy hitched a ride good from work. All the way down the hilly 2222 all the way to my house. And then he hung around even after in my garage for a bit before I went to get gas. This guy's out of control. I should cover him with chocolate and eat him. His power will be mine!

This has got to hurt.

mobile post: bottles are so overrated

Yo! recommended this nice box wine. I can't wait to get home to try it out.

Just a crazy add from out Washington D.C. way (via San Francisco). I bet it ain't up no longer. Regardless, freaky shite.

Sha Na Na sent this to me and I'm actually going to join the millions others out there and post a YouTube video.

Sunday, September 24, 2006

Man, long day of watching NFL games, but I forgot about the Amazing Race.

I've been tearing up the house and can't find my main notebook (not to be confused with my recipe notebook). I know my house is a mess, but it shouldn't be that difficult to find. Last I recall seeing it was Friday after my little trip while avoiding the last hours of work. I had a nice story going about me and Jager blowing off work and drinking. Oh well, I'm sure it's sitting out with my Amex card that I haven't seen in a couple months.

I guess I have had a productive morning. No, that's doesn't make up for me (potentially) losing that. Maybe a day of glorious football will turn it up.

Some crazy ass rain going down around here. I think my road is now the Nile river.

Friday, September 22, 2006

Went out for a quick beer at the Crown, but I shouldn't have stopped for a couple at Billy's first. Ended up closing down Mean Eyed Cat with The Saw. I don't think I'll be making it into work today. It's a good thing they understand my special needs.

mobile post: not this, anything but this!

I forgot my ipod. This is going to be a long day at the office. Good thing I'm going in at 10:30.

Apparently Axl Rose got off his ass and is touring. My boy incognegro cracked open some Bud Light tall boys and is at the show in San Francisco. It's almost like being there.

Holy shit, it was International Talk Like A Pirate Day yesterday and I missed it. Arghhhh!

And speaking of pirates...

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

I'm almost being productive: I've got my TV in my office, am going through trash in the office, doing some work and looking for shit to do in Argentina. Quite the adventure I've got going on.

Well, I've done some thinking and I know have New Year's plans. I'm jumping on the bandwagon and joining neolefty and incognegro on a trip to Buenos Aires. Now I think I need to get to work and do some shit so I can have a job when I get back.

Shit, damn. I jinxed myself by saying I hadn't had any allergy problems in a couple years. Next thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire and I'm gasping for breath this morning. Damn trees. Why can't we just burn all of them?

Monday, September 18, 2006

I just survived an interception run back by Jacksonville defense that would've cost me a victory in fantasy football. Instead, my team remains undefeated. Good for me.

Speaking of sports, the Tigers have quietly won four of their last six. That doesn't keep them from having the second worst record in baseball since the All-Star break, but it's something to hang your hat on. Albeit a small hat.

Got myself some dinner going. I'd like to think it was jambalaya, but I don't think I think it turned out so well. But there's lots of chicken, sausage and rice to eat.

But it's good enough to eat over some football. Not literally over a football, but you know what I'm saying.

Keymaster's headed off and I'm in recovery mode. Good time last night. We saw this band, Okkervil River, which was so-so. After that, me and Keymaster separated to get two different groups back to an after party. Neither of us knew where the place was, but we did have vague text directions.

I get the group of Swedes who worked for the World Bank. They were in town from Washington D.C. for ACL Fest and were friends of a friend of Keymaster. On the way, I pointed out things like stores, roads, and trains that they probably didn't have in Sweden. They seemed taken by this strange American. That being me.

We found the house with a bunch of people out front and headed in. I introduced everyone and immediately began confusing the blonde Swedish girl with a blonde girl at the party. I kept saying things like, "what keeps happening to your accent?"

After about 30 minutes or so, I realize Keymaster hasn't shown up. I give him a call and it turns out he's across the street at the party. Yes, I was at the wrong party, but they had a keg so I wasn't too concerned about it. I checked with the Swedes and they seemed fine with staying at the wrong party.

Eventually I did go to the real party and they're all sitting down. Sitting? The other party had people standing. No contest, so I had to go back. Besides, the Swedes were still there. And after about 15 minutes, the other party crashed the party, too.

Good times!

And in my crazy little world it's impossible for me to savor a Michigan victory, Notre Dame loss, and a Florida State victory in the same day. It must be all that hard living that justifies Jebus throwing his thunder bolts my way.

Well, Notre Dame's overrated just like I thought.

Man, Keymaster's here but there's a ton of great football on today. And in high definition, too! It's so friggin hot outside, I think I'll be watching the football for a while longer.

mobile post: fire, fire, everywhere

And more flaming Dr. Pepper's. I guess they are willing to do them if the places isn't too crowded. I don't know how sad this is, but the door guy and the bartender remembered me.

Friday, September 15, 2006

Man, people are in town for ACL Fest and Mopac is a parking lot. I'm glad I'm not going down that way. And least not for a few hours.

Keymaster's showing up from LA later today and I'm elaving early from work for a class. That's a great way to start the weekend.

mobile post: stuck in traffic, again

I've tried all week (well Monday and today) to get into the office by 9, and I keep getting into traffic. Today I was all set to be out before 830 and then I decided to update my ipod. I'm a sucker for new software, but I ended up not working because of some software conflicts. And now I'll be late for both of my 9 am meeting. Yes, both. Good times.

Tuesday, September 12, 2006

Well, tech support was supposed to show up around 10. They showed up at 2 (though I did tell them not to show up at 1 since I hadn't eaten, but still late). And then it took the guy and hour to put the new motherboard in. So one would think I'd be working late tonight to catch up? Hell no, I left at 5:15 for a happy hour. Though the only hour involved was the hour for me to get to the damn place with all the traffic. Never go up 620 for any bar unless somebody's quitting or dead. Or both.

No I need to make me some food and try to figure out what to watch without football on the television. Maybe taped football?

No rush getting into the office early. At least I've got a reason today.

Thank The Maker for that shitty Oakland Raiders offense. With that, I beat neolefty in my first week of fantasy football. Go me!

Monday, September 11, 2006

Yeah, I was right: pain in the ass getting my machine fixed. In fact, it'll be some time before tomorrow before noon that I'll get it all back. Progress, a course best served slow.

At least I felt less guilt about leaving at 3:45. I had to get ready for football.

I was trying to get some stats on my work laptop yesterday and it kept freezing up. Well, it never came back this morning so I get the unenviable position of dealing with tech support. Well, imagine dealing with the normal rigmarole of tech support and adding another layer of the company checking to make sure you really had an issue before passing you off to the normal tech support. I'm in no rush to start that jazz. Obviously.

Sunday, September 10, 2006

Well, hey hey. I found my Social Security card and my birth certificate. Now if somebody wants to take over my life, they just need to go into my closet and take that shit out of my shoe box on the top shelf.

Hey fellow Lions fans, losing 6-9 against the defending NFC champs is still a loss. Don't bleed me a river with talks about moral victories and building character. Matt Millen still needs to go far away (I'd say die, but don't want to be too morbid).

Saturday, September 09, 2006

I tried to go tailgating, but it seemed like too much a pain in the ass to park so I called up The Saw and followed him to his brother's place. His brother was smoking some brisket and ribs and I'm pretty confident that I won't need to eat again today. Maybe even tomorrow. Now I've got to rest up to be able to have the energy to go downtown to drink beer.

I got back from my class and had a message from a coworker. I had forgot that I had volunteered to drop him off near the tailgating for the Ohio State/Texas game. All I really wanted to do was go take a nap, but now I'm compelled to go drinking.

Something's wrong when you're waking this early up for something other than work.

Went out with Aces and he originally started off the night saying he was rooting for Ohio State in the big game later today (he's a Nebraska fan), but he changed his tune after the drunken antics of the jackass Buckeye fans. I tried to tell him.

This says how important the WNBA is: they're moving the championship game to another arena because of a Mariah Carey concert. And with that, I'm calling it a day and going to get a drink.

I just got done with my call that started at 5 am. Yes, you heard me correctly, 5 am. Good times!

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Football is back and I'm stuffing my face eating chili dogs. Woo hoo!

I had hoped to take a picture of all the branches I had cut and bound together, but the damn compost people already took it off. Damn them and their competence!

Lovely day starts with an 8 am conference call followed by a 8:30, then a 9:00 then a 9:15. I love it. So much I've actually updated my resume to aid in the ship jumping. At least I can take these calls from home.

Stupid Tigers lost again. They sure know how to blow things.

I broke down and bought a frozen turkey breast already with gravy, but it didn't have any stuffing or taters. So what's a boy to do? I made some stuffing with corn, carrots, and chopped up ciabatta bread. Hmm, hmm, good. Like Thanksgiving in prison used to be.

Well, well, well. Florida State has beaten Miami. Wonderful.

Man, that alcohol thing takes a lot out of a person. Though watching Naked Gun has somewhat revitalized me.

mobile post: more fire

I'm over at 420's birthday party and there's a been a bit of problem with the tiki torches. Fire, fire, everywhere!

Sunday, September 03, 2006

Got some work done today, but I need to go get some stuff done before I head to 420's birthday party. But it's so comfy on my couch.

mobile post: i got it!

Done and done. The last season of the Arrested Development is mine.

mobile post: say hello to the Hamburgler

I'm doing something I haven't done in years: eating at a McDonald's. I figure it just opened today so it can't be too fragged. Yet. Besides, I felt like I deserved a Big Mac. JMVC says this one was here than rebuilt (stronger/faster), but I think this is all new. I'll have to ask them. Or not.
