I've made a big move in my life, I've deleted all the whores from MySpace. It's a big day. No more whores!

This whole NFL Network is getting on my nerves (I almost feel as if I shouldn't link to their site). Does it seem right that I can't watch games that are on cable TV? They had a game Thanksgiving night and games through the rest of the season on Thursday nights. And then starting next Monday they'll have Saturday night games, too. I almost contemplated not going to the Crown tonight so I could find a sports' bar that had the game on. I mean, they almost took the Crown from me. The Crown!

post note: though it is still early, I could change my mind but I doubt it.

And from the "good with the bad" category, my work fob has shorted out. So, I've got two weeks for them to get me a new one before I head away for Christmas. I doubt that deep incompetence of a place can turnaround anything that quickly.

At least I made it up to do some work on my crazily unorganized novel. That was the good, by the way. Now, I sleep.

Well, another year, another novel (well, I didn't do one last year). About an hour ago I went past the 50,000 word mark. I can't really call this a novel as there really is just the first 80% of something. So I can either keep at it or put it off. I'm leaning towards the former. The way I look at it is, this is keeping me from doing real work and stuff around my house. The tools of the procrastinator!

So, I was trying to figure out the word claustrophobia yesterday and my work locked down the phobia site that I was directed to. I guess they've got some phobias of their own.

OK, did some serious cranking this evening and then tonight (are those the same thing?), anyway I'm going to pass out with just under 48,900. The touchdown pole is in sight and I'm close to spiking the jelly donut.

I can't imagine somebody replacing a camcorder with a bottle of pasta sauce. At least not until they've already bought it.

And I'm making some progress, but I don't want to jinx myself. Though it has been a while since I jinxed...

Darn, ABC is cancelling The Nine. I guess it was too smart for everyone but me. Damn you stupid people.

Man, this novel thing is killing me. I tried to force out some last night and it just wasn't coming. I'm like 600 words shy of 45k which is behind the pace from yesterday. I'm hoping to get cranking at work today. Hopefully none of that work stuff gets in my way or it will be a long couple of days.

And now, I'm off to work!

Monday, November 27, 2006

Man, I'm just glad I won't need Secret Service for my trip to Argentina.

Sunday, November 26, 2006

Well, Aces and my weak nature have caused me to piss away my Saturday with bar hopping until 3 am. Now I see my Sunday going the same way. I managed to sneak away and meet a couple people that are going to Argentina next month so that's something. Though I had some high hopes for the weekend and I believe I'll end up doing virtually nothing of consequence. Good times!

How the ebbs and flows work. I am now ahead of my word pace after going up to Sherlock's for a couple hours and now just have to keep it up. And unless something crazy happens, I'll be in for the night. And you know what? I'm sort of looking forward to it.

I went down to Mozart's for some Nano catch up. It was an extremely painful four hours trying to pull out material, though I think it might be residual hangover hangover from Wednesday. Regardless, it was painful, painful. I'm still behind the words, but I've got the rest of the weekend ahead. And, I guess, even today.

Oh, Borat is best while loaded, but even better if you eat some food. Unfortunately I missed that last part. I'm in a bit of pain today and the Lions piss poor performance (on and off the field) sure did not help.

So the couch will be my companion today as I need all my rest for tonight's Lady Sovereign show.

Wednesday, November 22, 2006

A great day, I'm working from home and then heading for the Borat activities. Trudy's followed by Borat at Alamo, a great combination.

Now, I'm off to run some errands.

Tuesday, November 21, 2006

I had a follow up with my doctor on the results of a checkup. His exact words to me: "Whatever you are doing, keep it up." Now, I don't want to go against the words of a doctor, but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be keeping up everything I've been doing. God help everyone if I do.

Now, per my doctor's instructions, I am heading down to Opal Divine's for a friend's birthday.

OK, all. Here's a holiday recipe for you all.

4 Ciabatta Rolls
2 gloves of garlic
1 medium onion
3 carrots
1 ear of corn (roasted). If not roasted, a can of frozen corn without the juice
2 links hot Italian sausage
olive oil
Italian seasoning (a combination of rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano, basil)
Chicken broth (several cups)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Poach the Italian Sausage in water (e.g. put the sausage in a fry pan and put enough water to cover them halfway along with some olive oil. Flip them and cook until the water is pretty much gone). Set them aside.

Dice the onion. Dice the carrots. In a fry pan along with some olive oil, add the onions and carrots. Add salt & pepper. Let cook for about 5-10 minutes until the onions are tender then add the corn (obviously removed from the ear).

Cut the rolls into crouton size pieces and put into a bowl. Add olive oil along with salt, pepper and Italian Seasoning. Cover well. Add onion/carrot/corn mixture. Combine well.

Take cooled sausage and cut into smaller pieces. Put into a fry pan with some olive oil and crisp up the pieces. Add to remaining stuffing mixture. Pour chicken broth over mixture.

Pour onto a sheet pan or casserole dish and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the top is browned.

Options: put some grated parmesan or Romano cheese on top

neolefty sent me this great spot about Buenos Aires restaurants: "Serious carnivores should head to La Cabana, where Argentine beef, Japanese Kobe beef, you name it - will land on your plate in whatever weight you desire. In fact, you don't have to name it - your beef is so personalized, it arrives with a certificate giving the birth date of the cow, the name of the ranch where it was raised, its vaccination records and should you want more information, you can go to La Cabana's computer and look up the type of feed used and more."

And I did win my fantasy football league game. Now I can move forward with my nice short week. Oh, Thanksgiving week, I love you! It is even better when you schedule doctor's appointments (like the dentist this morning) like I have.

I love LaDainian Tomlinson! I might win my fantasy football game this week with the rest of my team having scored only 21. A miracle from heaven itself. Thought I'll be in trouble going forward with Donovan McNabb knocked out but I have an ex-Lion waiting in the wings: Joey Harrington!

Oh, and I'm going into my fourth week on Nano just on pace.

Well, my first loaf of bread is complete. It tastes pretty darn good, though I still can't get damn pictures to post from my phone so I have to go old school. I'll just say it looks like bread and tastes like heaven.

I had a few places to hit last night, but the middle stop was Six Lounge and there was a bit of an incident between a guest and a bouncer. I had a front row seat as the guest got the beat down and dragged out. Funny thing, I saw his hat and it was an FSU one. I had to take it home as a souvenir. Our people are usually a bit less temperamental and moody. This man does not represent our people!

I got some serious work done and for the first time and am ahead of the word pace. I got up at 7:15 am and headed into the cooking school to get some lessons learned on baking. I'm sure there are others, but baking is the one thing in the cooking world that I haven't exposed myself too much to.

And now I've got to get ready for this damn Michigan-Ohio State game. I hope my negative energy works out for Michigan.

Friday, November 17, 2006

Oh, man, I had this horrible work party to go to tonight. I worked from home today because I had an all-day conference call, but the party was back near work. I show up and there's no beer, just food and a margarita blender that one of my coworkers brought. They had wine and were doing shot of tequila. Round three was in progress when I showed up. I would have brought something but the invite didn't mention anything to bring. Besides, if I brought beer I might have felt obliged to stay longer and drink them. One of the sows was getting loaded and was angling for a ride home. I would have none of that. Besides, the house had a couple spare rooms. Or you stay long enough to sober up. Or you drive drunk. It's just stupid because the sow lived out of the way to and would need a ride back to the party house tomorrow. It is just ridiculous how stupid people can be.

My boss is involved with a charity and I got rooked into helping out at an event tonight. I was asked to tend bar (opening beers and pouring margaritas) and I arrived to such a disorganized situation that they were opening bottles of beers with pliers. Thank Zeus I had a solution (for that problem, of course). Never before had I thought I would use the bottle opener in my car for a charity even.

Besides that I am actually ahead of the game by six words. After the charity deal, I went, shockingly, to the Crown and got some work done there. Document actually read a piece of it. And with that, I am passing the fuck out.

Well, the last part of the bus experiment didn't end so well as I misread the 3 bus schedule and had to walk around a bit more. Now Draught House, but I did get a nice round-trip bus ride for one American dollar.

Well, the bus experiment continues. I took the 19 bus down to near Jefferson Square. Only problem was there was nothing near there. So I got off the bus near there and ended up walking for a bit. I am currently at the Santa Rita Tex-Mex Cantina down on 38th Street. I think I will do some more writing down here before heading to the Draught House. The 19 bus may pick me up near my house, but the 3 bus goes until near midnight!

Shit, tomorrow's not Thursday. I took out the trash for nothing, nothing!

I somehow missed this when it happened thirty minutes ago, but glorious news; Jeff Bowden will no longer be running the offensive offense at Florida State.

I got past 20k and it has nearly killed me. I'm going to bed and hoping for a quick death. The bar hopping with Flashman earlier (Elephant Room is cool, btw) did provide some inspiration, but I'm still behind the pace. Where's my sleigh dog when I need him? Mush, mush.

Or is it moosh?

No going home today, I'm heading straight down to Cork and Company to meet up with Flashman. I'm thinking leaving now will get me there pretty close to our meeting time of 6:30. Getting downtown should be easier for me. At least me.

Sunday, November 12, 2006

I slept until about 10:30 so I had no real excuse not to do a bunch of ketchup writing today ('ketchup' writing versus 'catch up' writing as I actually bathe in ketchup prior to the writing process beginning). But I found an excuse called the NFL. Even bad games. I put some words down on the note pad, but only a few hundred. In other words, no getting to the 20k I need to be even for the weekend. But I do have the week of work that might let me catch up.

Friday, November 10, 2006

Some of my creative writing has been lost! I had to fill out this performance review and it took almost all of my energy to fill out this crap. Crap, I say! Now I'm off downtown to meet up with JMVC and then Winston for separate happy hour/get-together situations.

I was on a roll yesterday and ignored my friends, mostly, at the Crown and have over 15,000 words. So that puts me back on track and slightly ahead. That's good because today's going to be a long day at work and then dowtown so I do not know what I'll accomplish writing wise. And don't think that I'm really writing anything wise.

As for the bus ride, I'll call it a success. I lost my ticket so I had to pay a dollar twice, but it was worth it. It's like I had my own not so private designated driver. The best part was when I realized the pickup spot was closer than where they dropped me off, so I was able to head back and slam another pitcher with the Filmmaker.

OK, I'm off to work.

Thursday, November 09, 2006

I'm heading to the Crown and trying something different, taking the bus. One dollar there and back, should be a good experiment. I took the bus downtown a couple weeks back to check out a museum and it was pretty convenient. The one downside is that I have to be back on the line by 11:30. Maybe that prevents too much nonsense from occuring.

Besides, I'm hoping I can get a little closer to caught up. I'm around 12,500 which is pretty good considering I was at 8600 on Tuesday. Though I'm still behind now.

Sorry for the lack of posts, but between the novel writing and other bullshit I haven't have the spare energy. Anyway, I a couple days behind schedule, hopefully can get caught up over the weekend.

Now I get to have a conference call. This ain't a respectable time, that's for sure.

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

OK, I'm in no mood for much. My spark, along with a sizeable chunk of my faith in people, has been shot. Add in there how I pissed away a couple hundred bucks trying to forget about it. That never does work so I don't know why I keep trying. Anyway, I need to conserve what I have to get through work and my Nano. Hopefully I can multi-task later in the week and put some posts out then.

I've sat my ass down today and plucked around some words and am around 4,300 hundred for today. That'd be much better overall if my total wasn't 36 prior to today. I think I need a couple days like this to get back into the flow. I need 10k by end of day Monday to keep on track so hopefully I can get there.

As far as the story, it's nowhere as exciting as the one from a couple years with my underwater monkey-loving pirates. Or were the radioactive monkeys just part of another story? I doubt I'd make my story unrealistic by adding monkey with underwater pirates.

Anyway, I'm heading off to play some cards for the first time in a couple months. Let's hope the rust doesn't show too much.

I love Guinness! That can be proven by asking people across the globe, but never so much as today when I found out I could buy an unheard of amount (a 15 pack?!) for under eighteen dollars. A glorious day, though I had to confirm it with the local grocery to see what they're price was. So I'm saving about sixty cents a can now. I'm figuring I've got free beer after about the ninth or tenth one. It's frightening how much money I'll be saving by buying more Guinness. Glorious!

Friday, November 03, 2006

Met up with some folks at Trudy's on campus before going to Crown last night. Winston's out of town so the normal Thursday thing usually dies without him. And since I saw none of this friends there, I'm assuming that is the case. Next week, possibly, it will reconvene. And I have no desire to go into the office other than I've got a couple breakfast tacos waiting for me. I'm hoping I can out of there early tonight because I want to hit this thing at the Blanton Museum, B Scene. Atlanta had something similar, me thinks, as they keep the museum open late and serve booze (along with music, of course). Worth a try, I think.

Thursday, November 02, 2006

Been a pretty quick week and I'm noticing the lack of posts. I think this month might be a bit less and I'm trying to write another novel this month. It doesn't help that I was too hungover all day to do anything but 36 words, but there's always today, right?

Wednesday, November 01, 2006

Met up with Fat Boy at Salt Lick 360 and that place really isn't all that good. Well, the chili was, but not much else. They're trying too hard. And that was like five hours ago. I'm still barely recovered from last night. That alcohol stuff should come with a warning label.
