mobile post: keeping the economy going
I think I am now worse than old people. I was in bed before 9:30 pm last night. Though unlike old people, I slept until past 8:00 am. Grandma's got nothing on me.

A third straight day of getting to bed before 11 pm. Last night was the kicker as I was tucked in by 10:30.

Well, I'm thinking this will be a stay-at-home weekend. No going out for this crazy man. The roommates are going to be gone, too. So it definitely should be a quiet one.

Watch out, it seems to be Girl Scout Cookie time again. I'll have to avoid the grocery stores for a while.
I don't know if I mentioned it, but I picked up my tickets to JMVC's wedding in Rome. Well, sort of. I'm flying into London because it's a bit cheaper and then flying to Rome the next day. I still need to figure out how to get back to London for my return flight the following Sunday, but I'll take some time to figure that out. I'd really like to go Sweden but that might be too much travelling for that short a period of time. So many tough decisions.

My buddy neolefty sent me a link to this woman's blog. She's got a great post (and video!). Apparently god doesn't like gay people. I'd use caution at work, however.

I found the NHL All-star game. Apparently it's on some channel called Versus. Straight from a Pearl Jam album to a cable channell, I guess.
Apparently the NHL All Star Game is tonight. I would assume it was on NBC, but I would be wrong. That's not really the best way to promote a sport by a fan (me?) not knowing how to watch their games.

mobile post: foot shot
I put cream cheese on a piece of toast! I only thought it was good on bagels, but I was wrong.

It's been a month and still no trash can. This is past ridiculous.

I know it is a bit dark, but, yes, that's a suit of armor in my back seat. Doesn't everyone have one of those?Labels: minutia

mobile post: good stuff
Great food in my class tonight at Central Market but none better than this rack o' lamb over risotto. It almost makes me forget I've had to leave class twice for stupid work calls.Labels: food
Yesterday I was home again, but I'm braving the elements to hit the office today. I just can't stay at home any longer, plus I've got a cooking class tonight.

With the weather so crappy, me and the roommates have been pretty much locked in the house the pass few days. It got so bad that we played an Austin variation of Monopoly. Good times!

There's some sort of conference in our office this week so our boss asked that we be in the office by 8 am and be dressed somewhat nicely (that only means no jeans to me). Well, the weather's been shit all weekend and there are advisories out for now until noon Tuesday so I assumed we'd get an email telling us to work from home. Well, I was up at 6:30 and made a nice breakfast (scrambled eggs with ham and spinach), but there was no email saying to stay home. So I ventured in around 7:30 through slick roads and a couple of accidents (two cars spun out on the I-183/Mopac breezeway) just to find an email from my boss saying to stay home. Well, I think I'll stay a couple hours to kill some time before fighting my way back.
And I see a stew or some other comfort food in my future.

confirmation
This is confirmation that water does flow counterclockwise south of the equator.
neolefty and I were playing the parts of scientists between all the eating and drinking.

Well, I am back home. I've already had my first conference call and am ready to call it a day. Too much traveling back from Buenos Aires through Houston back to Austin. I'll have to get some pictures up, but I need to get myself some sleep, for sure. Good time in Houston unpacking my bag because security wouldn't let me carry on my items I bought from duty free. That was tons of fun. But at least I have some whiskey and wine from down there. Though I settled for the red label instead of the blue.Saturday, January 06, 2007
mobile post: another stop
This is the beach in Montevideo, Uruguay. An unplanned side trip. Well, sort of unplanned. More unexpected from my end. We are heading back to BA in a few hours.Labels: travel

mobile post: new year's day, early, in BA
That's a local beer called Quilmes which we're indulging in. Well, currently only me as I'm down in Puerto Madero waiting for the sunrise. I was abandoned long ago but I have a vague clue where we're staying. I think there's and address in my pocket...mobile: grandma got ran over
We're down partying in BA for New Year's and this is what we have to see? So, I guess this old chick's not up for the after party.Subscribe to Posts [Atom]
