We had some special guests for the second night in a row, tonight it was the Bubbas. We spent a couple hours catching up. But I was pretty much glossed over after hearing about their sweet beach place down near Rockport. Oh, to be handy.

Bus ride number two coming up to get us to the Best Margarita in Austin taste-off (aka Bobaritaville). There was some serious bar hopping last night. After 219, we went to The Ginger Man before Lavaca Street, Red Fez and some other bars. I think. Then it was back to my place to watch Caddyshack.

I like having people in town: I showed up around 11 am and am leaving at 5:01. It would've been sooner, but somebody scheduled a call with me for 4:30 (though they are late to the call). That's not stopping me from leaving, that's for sure. Heading with neolefty to Fonda San Miguel for another certainly good meal. Well, hopefully I didn't jinx things.

Some crazy spider in my pool intake. I've omitted the after pictures of it floating away all dead and such. Its death came right in the middle of a glorious day of sitting in the backyard and listening to the Tigers beat the Phillies. It almost felt like I was back in Michigan. Except I had a job and wasn't 13.

Checked out the Keep Austin Weird Festival yesterday then saw LC Rocks (Jager and S. Money would love these guys) at Cedar Street. I knew it would be a great day when I took the bus downtown. Go Cap Metro! I'll have to post a picture of the guy with the cat on his shoulders. Or not.

Well, I change my network login to be relate to the Tigers and guess what happens? Detroit Tigers no-hitter! With my boy Justin Verlander to boot. And they are back in a tie for first place. A long day of doing next to nothing. A friend came by to take advantage of my water and drive way then Chilly came by to watch the season finale of The Office. I forced him to watch a couple other shows, but I fed him some food so the complaining was at a minimum. Now I'm getting ready to head to my cooking class. Amazing that I got up at 8:15 am and I accomplished next to nothing.

Turned out to be an "early" night with me home like 10 minutes ago. Even managed to take a side trip and see Hayes Carll down at Saxon Pub. It was really more to see The Saw and was pretty much a waste of ten bucks for me, but that's the cost of freedom.

Oh, another one of my brother's is talking about coming down "for the winter". Forget the fact that he's talking about coming down in August and that's not Winter, but the real fun part is that he and the brother down here do not get along. Didn't I move to Texas so I could avoid my family? Jebus.
Somebody here wants me to create a report that can't be pulled from any sort of data. Basically, she wants me to make something up from a variety of sources by hand. Where will I be able to validate it? According to her "seems to me it will have to be a stare and compare". That makes me feel valuable.
In a side note, Blogger's changed how they post pictures. I had to resubmit my cell phone to get picture posts to work again.

Apparently I missed it, but there was another storm that rolled through while I was at work.
Speaking of storms, somebody who's been gone about a year has shown back up. Like a bad penny, my brother's back in town. Apparently. He showed up Saturday evening and just now got around to calling me up.

Crazy storm blew through here and took the power with it. I've been sitting starting at a candle the past 30 minutes.
