holiday tie

I guess I've got to wear it some time.

christmas eve dinner

I'm making baked ziti with meatballs and garlic bread. Obviously, the first picture is the ziti. I made it with a very simple meatless sauce. My dad is a pretty picky eater and doesn't like much beyond what my mom does so I didn't want to get too fancy. I might've gone with meat, but since we had my mom's meatballs I decided to leave the meat out.
Mom's recipe comes from a girl one of my brothers dated back when we first moved full-time to Florida. Baking time for the ziti is a few hours away, but I think I might steal a meatball now!

jemondez!

You know you love that guy.

breakfast

This is just one sampling of the abundance of food my mom's been giving to me. Yes, that's four pieces of bacon with my eggs. And she thought I needed more toast.

Just confirmed things for the trip to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale for the weekend. I wonder how it'll be with all my married friends down there? I'm thinking it won't be like hanging out with Seerwah.

Glorious 6 am phone calls! The best part is that I did the math wrong and thought the call was at 4 am, not 6. Damn Central Time to Easter Time conversion almost spoiled me again.

Wednesday, December 12, 2007

This is family week for sure: two brothers Sunday and Monday, my parents today, plus a phone call from another brother bitching about my company. And not the pleasure of it.

have knife will travel

I don't know what this says. Besides that I didn't lose my bag. And my phone camera's back taking green pictures. At least I had a good dinner at this diner down in West Palm after my folks picked me up.

It was called Howley's and situated sort of southeast of the airport. The food was pretty good (crab cake sandwich!).

shitty weather outside the plane in HoustonI'm waiting to take off from Houston in plane with three seats per row. And this is a nearly three hour flight. And the weather's shitty. And my connection was pretty tight so I'm quite confident I won't have my bag on the other end. Good times!

Well, this is nice: directnic sent me an email on the 4th saying to reduce the size of my site by the 10th or they'd delete all my files. Apparently they were serious. So my site's fucked until I can track down all the non-xml stuff around. And that would include all the mobile pictures I've sent over the course of the last few years. Thanks for fucking me!

I hope everyone likes the new look for a while, because I'm leaving town Wednesday morning with no mechanism to fix this by then.

I've already got to hear conversations about the Spice Girls, thoughts on one of the Bush girls calling some talk show, and issues with shallots. Good morning to me!

My brother's arrived, just two and a half hours late. We hit Guero's for some drinks and foods before doing a drive-by of the Driskill Hotel before landing at the flag ship Whole Foods. My brother, for some reason, thinks that Whole Foods is the only store that offers prepared food. Maybe in Michigan, but pretty much every pseudo major grocery store around I's seen has them. Anyway, that's enough for day one.

My brother's flight into Dallas was late so he missed his connector here. Good thing I'm only 25 minutes from the airport.

red is the new black

I picked up new kitchen mats and towels to go with the cabinets and such. No more green.

Quiet night and day around these parts. I'm getting the place in shape for another brother's visiting starting tomorrow plus I'm leaving on Wednesday (robber's alert, robber's alert!). Lots of stuff to do, that's for sure.

A glorious night of not doing anything. Just glorious.

Thursday, December 06, 2007

I can't believe how great it is to be home with no plans to do anything. I do have to deal with my brother's return, but that's child's play compared to going out every night until midnight or later.

Well, Seerwah left this morning and I'm actually happy he's gone. Not that we didn't have a good time, I'm just pretty much dead. We were up until nearly 4 drinking and I barely got to work an hour ago. Good times!

I'm working from home today. I'm too beat to go anywhere, besides, I've got some guy coming by to install a new thermostat.

Woo hoo, robbery next store! Good thing my ex cop neighbor spoiled things for the thieves.

I had a bachelor party last night and I got home around four. And to make the fun even more so, I volunteered at the cooking school. Thank God they gave me a couple mimosas to take the edge off. Bubba's stopped by and now we're headed up to Sherlock's to catch the rest of these worthless football games.

This is one hell of a way to prepare for Seerwah's visit.
