the remaining day
The bleakness of the day got much better as I took a nice walk at Town Lake, caught up with a friend of mine, some relaxation by the pool then grilling up some bacon wrapped hot dogs. Now I'm knocking out a few episodes of Season 1 of Breaking Bad so I can get that back off to its owner.
Then it'll be watching as the Red Wings try to take an 2-0 lead off the DVR! No commercials for this chump.

words can not totatly describe this
So I had a couple of dreams over the night during what is becoming a regularly bad pattern of sleep. The first one and part of the second dream happened before I woke up around 5 am. I was up until around 6:30 obsessing on something before going back to bed where the second dream picked back up until I woke up about 15 minutes ago. The second dream is really the most disturbing but I'll put them both out there as best as I can recall.
Dream 1. There is some damage at the house of girl I had been seeing. It appeared to be ceiling damage which I had not had any impact on creating, but I became involved with fixing. It was a bit beyond my capability but I gave it a go. Along the way there was an accident and what had been started became damaged. Again, not sure if was at fault but I snuck in to refix it. It appears as if I was doing a good job as I recall commenting that was doing much better as a result of the first time's practice. I'm in some crawl space fixing something with plaster or getting something ready for paint when I hear somebody talking with the girl I was seeing about redoing the kitchen with a professional. I said something to this somebody about how I did that and it cost like 30k. This somebody ask the girl I'm seeing about this, she ignores it, and they continue talking.
I then started off the second dream, but I woke up woke up with the first dream still in focus in my head so I tried to figure out who this somebody was and pulled up facebook and finally found out who it was (it was her roommate). Unfortunately that led to over an hour of obsessing over a post on that persons' facebook profile for a while before forcing myself to sleep.
Dream 2. I've had this experience where I pick up dreams that had started before whether it was in earlier in the night's sleep (like todays) or days later. I don't recall exactly where things broke off, but it started with me seeing a car for sale. It matched exactly to a picture I had of a car (I'm assuming it is a car my dad had from his youth that he had painted refrigerator white). So I thought I'd borrow the car and take it to my dad's old house which was nearby. I walked to the car and the keys were there but there was nobody in the house so I took it for a ride around the block to my dad's old place and snapped the picture from across the street. I then noticed an open garage door around the corner of somebody I thought knew my family (or was it a shed, either way I had to walk around the corner to get there) so I headed that way. Turns out it was a family friend and we chatted for a few minutes, talked about the car, then I noticed some police sirens. I was a little scared but figured I had to clear things up.
As I walk towards the police, I have the picture out and say I can explain. I'm enveloped by a pack of cops who take me a bit roughly towards the house with the car. I see the owner of the house coming out and I'm saying all the while that I took the car that it was my issue exclusively. Next thing I know I'm being taken to the basement of the house where a variety of small balls are laying around the floor. I get tied up in such a way that my arms are tied but can have pressure applied to me. They start asking me a series of questions about the car but all I know is the truth. The pain is excruciating as they have somebody kneeing me in the back while yanking on my arms, eventually I pass out but (un)conveniently for me I was viewing this as third person (maybe the whole part or maybe just this part, not sure). I think the balls on the floor allowed them to get more pressure but what do I know about the subtleties of torture.
I wake to see the even more terrified home owner getting tied up. I tell them that they're making a terrible mistake and say that he had nothing to do with this. They set him up in a similar position but the restraints were not set totally set with him. They then began applying the pressure to him as I heard things pop, bones or joints I did not know, but I did know that the home owner resisted fiercely and somehow got his head beneath one of the loose straps. The police were just enjoying the torture and didn't notice that his neck was beneath as they continued to yank on his arms like a rag doll. His neck and mouth were underneath the restraints and I could see his face flapping for air as they pulled. I screamed out and they finally noticed they were killing him. The flap that was covering his face was removed just in time for me to see him convulse to death. I had skirted myself against a wall and found myself out of my bonds. The police were all shocked by this and there was talk about what to do with me. I think they were contemplating letting me go and this is about when I woke up; maybe on a good note.
So, what the fuck is wrong with me?!

its shocking how stupid people are
Just got back from that party at Winston's place and I was leaving when the Pilots overheard this guy on the phone (they recounted the story as we drove home). He was there with a girl who knew Winston. He was obviously talking with one of his buddies and "Yeah, we've got to get out here so we can play 'hide the sausage.'" Who fucking talks about people they're dating like that? I have to call up Winston to let him know his friend is going out with a douche bag. Though I'm sure she knows already since most girls go out with douche bags.
Now to the rest of the Red Wings game!

multi layer madness
I'm going to a party at Winston's later and he asked for me to create another dip for the party. I put it into a large bowl so I could invert it for this presentation (I'll have to work more on that!). It starts off with spinach/artichoke then a roasted red pepper/tomato salsa followed by a double layer of guacamole then black beans then a mix of cream cheese and sour cream before finishing off with the quintessential last layer of chopped lettuce. Only six layers, but six wonderful layers. Definitely less glamorous than the 11 layers of last year, but I like this one better (and I made it much faster)In the future, I might go with a layer of tasty corn or a different type of salsa or maybe different cheese layer. So many options but all I know is after a morning of grilling out in the sun with temps of 90° plus I need a nap! At least the exhaustion was for a good cause (I'd list it here but I'd hate for anyone to find it on this site and lose respect for it) and I know I can kick this thing out with great results pretty darn quick.

replacement glenlivet
Don't know if I mentioned that a bottle of this same item went missing on that memorial Memorial Day. Hopefully this one doesn't find the same fate. At least not until empty.Labels: drinking
still blue
I guess I can do nothing else than take pictures of my pool. I guess it has been 54 days since my first pic, but definitely looking good.Labels: house

annie hall
Part of killing the DVR of HDNet Movies continued with Annie Hall. They have a lot of 'so called' classics and I've been sifting through them the past few months. Given my current state, maybe this was the wrong time to watch this movie because it sure doesn't seem so good. It was like an older, unfunny Jerry Seinfeld. Though I did like the revisionist history part of their breakup towards the end.

huge pot pie
I'm up at the Daily Grill up in the Domain and unable to eat much for lunch so I'm sure this pot pie will join the artichoke dip already not eaten. Though I should eat since I basically partied it up all day yesterday around the house, even the neighbor came by and was telling Vietnam stories. Interesting times. And in case you're concerned, that Johnny Walker in the left corner will be taken down.
another jager in the world
Congrats to the Jager family on welcoming a bouncing baby boy into the world last Tuesday.

inspired
I decided to check out my friends running the CapTexTri this morning. I was so inspired that I drank a beer down there. If you had a shot of my face you could have one of those faux Motivational Posters. Anyways, I've got people coming back to my house to enjoy the pool.Sunday, May 24, 2009
steadying myself for terminator salvation
Just got out of running some errands after checking out Terminator Salvation with emjey. I like how it was filmed. And even more, I like having a flask of Maker's Mark to mix with my frozen coke/cherry coke swirl. Seriously, Christian Bale was great but (maybe) even better Sam Worthington. I don't know how much this will make at the box office or if they'll be another one of these movies, but I'd like to see more of McG's Terminator world.Labels: drinking, emjey, movies

star trek is pretty darn good
Just got back from the midnight IMAX showing of Star Trek at the Bob Bullock Museum. I liked the story and the acting wasn't bad (though the guy playing Bones was a bit overdoing it). It definitely didn't need an IMAX viewing because there weren't any special scenes but a good use of a couple hours. Only problem is that it gets a bit worse after you think about it, but it was fine for those couple of hours.

twenty-nine days later
Looks like the hard work of emjey and me is paying off. The color looks blue and much better than just a few days ago. And the leak seems to be contained to right below the tile line so that might make it easier to fix.Friday, May 01, 2009
two down, one to go
I just dropped off my folks at the airport and now I just need to wait out my brother. Sounds like he's leaving tomorrow or Sunday.
